The Bold & The Beautiful

Recently, I have been loving the "statement" look. You know like, black & white, red & white/black. Colors that really stand out.
This image is a great way to really show how you can have a really shocking color on say the lips and leave the eyes neutral (like in the image). This then focuses on the lips. Or say you don't like your lips too much, make your eyes stand out and keep the lips toned down. (focus on the eyes).

Also what you wear reflects on the makeup. Like not too much print, as then the main feature will be on your face.
I would love to hear comments on what you think!

Feeling Blue

Gosh I never knew how much blogging about makeup would be so fun! Anyway, so I looked through my cosmetics bag and found some Barry M 'Dazzle Dust' colors - so I thought I'd experiment!
*TIP* - To achieve a perfect line with eyeshadow apply small tape at the edge of your eyes.

EYES: Firstly, I used my light (blue/gold shimmer) Dazzle Dust on the crease of my eye as the base. I then found Barry M silver glitter dust and applied on the edge of my eye , this is where the tape comes in handy. I then used a "No 7" white eyeshadow to enhance my eyebrows - this was applied on the browbone.
I also found a random teal eyeliner where I put on the bottom of my eye. With a small eyeshadow brush I blended the colors together. To finish off I used my "Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara" to add length and curl.

LIPS: For my lips I used my new "Rimmel Fresh!" Lipstick. This adds cool shine to my lips. I also used my Revlon lipgloss to finish off. *Pop*

What do you think of this combo? Never used it before, I think it looks quite summery and girly!

Does anyone else like Barry M's Dazzledust pots?

Hair care

So as a Hairdresser myself I wanted to share some of my routine and tips for anyone that has problems with their hair. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! My main topics I work with are Coloring & Styling but I have actually stopped training as it's not want I want to do in the future. I do know behind the scenes though :)

Okay so because my hair has permanent color, I use "Tigi, Bed Head Dumb Blonde" Shampoo. It's a diamond product for my hair. It keeps the dry, damaged hair (as it has bleach too) looking shiny, hydrated and locks in the color. Each bottle costs around £8 for 400ml. It's not the cheapest but if you want your color to last, use a good brand product.

I must say I don't fuss too much with conditioners.

*TIP* If you have straw-like hair, dehyrated and want soft sleek hair.

  • Buy any conditioner, even cheap ones are great.
  • Get a generous amount on the palm of your hand
  • Coat your hair in conditioner, LOTS of it!
  • Wrap your hair in a towel
  • Sleep over-night with your hair in the towel (This keeps heat in to penetrate the conditioner)
  • The next day wash it out

I use a mango scented conditioner for the Pound shop! It works like a miricle.
I do this whenever I get my hair colored or my hair dries out in the sun

I like to keep my hair natural in the summer , wavy and bed-like hair. If I straighten my hair I use a product I bought in the London hair show by Therapi. It's a heat defence spray, I guess most of you own these anyway.

Summery Makeup

So Summer is here & the time to look your best! Hair up, natural beauty is the way forward in this season. So here is my first ever post on Makeup.
I used an eyebrow pencil from "Rimmel" to add length at the ends as my eyebrows are quite short.
Eyebrows are really important as they make up most of your face and expression.
Next I used my "Revlon Bronzer Blush". This is my favourite product especially with my darker skin tone, it brings out the healthy glow and summery , natural look. (I do not use foundation in summer as I catch the sun easily and do not need it) I only use foundation in Winter.
Next I used my Revlon color pallette. I used the gold color as my base, and added the silvery as a higlighter on my browbone. I then added the darker tones on the edge on my eye for a smokey look. Then I blended.
I used my Rimmel eyeliner on the edge of my eye lid and on the bottom of my eye. Rimmel "Sexy Curves Mascara" and hey presto, summer look!

Hope you guys try it out too :)
